How do I add a joint account holder to my existing account?

Easily request the addition of a joint owner to your existing account through our online banking platform.

A joint account holder can help pay bills, monitor account activity, and provide a safety net if something unexpected happens. It's important to keep in mind that adding a joint account holder means that both parties have equal access to the account, so it is crucial to choose someone you trust.

Tip: Before you begin, please have the following information ready to submit:

1. The account number to which you are adding a joint holder. You can find this by clicking the account tile and then the Details and Settings link while logged into your online banking account.

2. A clear, color photo of the joint account applicant’s valid ID

Please follow the steps below to add an individual to your existing account(s):

  • Log in to your Old Glory bank account.
  • Click on the tile for the account that you would like to add the person to.
  • Click on “Details and Settings”.

  • Scroll down to “Add Joint Owner” and click the link.

  • Complete all the steps on the form.

Note: You must click on each step number to advance to the next page.

  • Click “Submit”. You will see a summary of the completed pages.
  • Any corrections can be made by going back to the numbered steps.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the summary page and click the “Submit” button.
  • Stay on the page until you see the Success pop-up screen.

We will contact you if we need any additional information. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. If your joint account holder is approved, they will receive an email and a debit card notification from Old Glory Bank.

You will see the joint account holder names on your accounts at the bottom of the “Details and Settings” page once they have been added.

Note: To add multiple people to your account you will need to complete a new form for each person being added.

Can a joint account holder be removed?

A Joint Account Holder CANNOT be removed from an account. A joint account must be closed, and a new account opened with you as the sole owner of the new account. In the event you choose to open a new account, your debit card associated with your joint account can be transferred to your new account provided the new account is opened prior to the old account being closed.

The only exception to a joint account holder not being removed is the death of a joint account holder. The surviving owner may keep the account open.

Upon the death of the joint account holder, please provide us with an original copy of the death certificate. An original document needs to be sent by regular mail to our mailing address:

Old Glory Bank

PO Box 20550

Oklahoma City, OK 73156

How can I keep my current debit card number if I close my joint account?

  • First, open your new account.
  • To close your old account, call customer service at 888-446-5345, and press 0 to speak directly with an agent.
  • AT THE TIME OF THIS CALL, you may request to keep your existing debit card number if you wish.
  • If you do not request to keep your card, your account will be closed, and your debit card will be deactivated; you will be issued a new debit card for your new account.
