Does Old Glory Bank have a way for me to fundraise or crowdfund for a cause?

Old Glory Bank is proud to provide Old Glory Alliance for Old Glory Bank customers to sponsor a campaign for a cause closest to their heart with the bank closest to their values.

When it comes to crowdfunding, we've seen too often that needed funds are "withheld" from the intended recipient simply because the fundraising site disagreed with the social or political stance of the parties involved.

Old Glory Alliance is our cancel-proof crowdfunding platform. Alliance is:

  • FDIC-Insured*
  • Cancel-Proof
  • Private

Just like Old Glory Bank, Old Glory Alliance is dedicated to protecting your Privacy, Security, and Liberty. Old Glory Alliance takes your security one step further by creating a fundraising site that holds accounts at Old Glory Bank, which you know will never cancel a campaign for political reasons. From creative projects to startup businesses to charitable causes to personal support – there is no limit to what we can accomplish together.

Will the Campaign Sponsor be assessed any fees at all?  Will Old Glory Bank retain any portion of campaign funds?

Yes, the Campaign Sponsor will be assessed 3.00% in fees for contributions made by credit card prior to the disbursement of campaign funds.  In addition, per Old Glory Alliance Terms of Service, Old Glory Bank has full discretion to hold back from distributions a reasonable reserve of up to 10% of aggregate donations made by a credit card for a period of up to 120 days from the date of such donation by credit card.

Withdrawing and Transferring Funds

How do I withdraw funds from my campaign?

A sponsor may request a Disbursement via the Alliance platform of some or all of the Campaign Balance, solely for the Beneficiary, for the purposes described in the Campaign, and in compliance with applicable law and the Old Glory Alliance Terms of Service.

To request a disbursement, complete the “Complete the Payout Request” form found under the MY CAMPAIGN(S) menu.

A Sponsor must accurately input the details and other information of such Disbursement.  The Sponsor is fully liable for (i) providing incorrect remittance information for the Disbursement, and/or (ii) utilizing the Disbursements solely for the intended purpose of the Campaign, and Sponsor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Old Glory Bank for same.

A request by the Sponsor is further consent and agreement to the applicable credit card and disbursement fees as described in the  Old Glory Alliance Terms of Service

  • Credit Card Fees. A convenience fee of 3.00% will be assessed to the sponsor for donations paid by credit card.
  • Cashier’s Check. The Disbursement Fee for a cashier’s check (including first class US mail postage) is $29.00. If you request a cashier’s check be sent via overnight courier (e.g., FedEx), the Disbursement Fee is increased from $29.00 to $49.00 to offset the cost of courier and handling.
  • Check. The Disbursement Fee for a check (including first-class US mail postage) is $5.00. If you request a check be sent via overnight courier (e.g., 6 | Page FedEx), the Disbursement Fee is increased from $5.00 to $25.00 to offset the cost of courier and handling.
  • Wire. The Disbursement Fee for a domestic wire is $30.00. The Disbursement Fee for an international wire is $40.00.
  • ACH. The Disbursement Fee for an ACH is $5.00. Please note that an ACH may take up to 2-3 business days.
  • Old Glory Bank Transfer. There is no Disbursement Fee for a Disbursement to a Sponsor’s or Beneficiary’s Old Glory Bank Account. Thus, request that the Beneficiary (if Sponsor is not also the Beneficiary) open an account with Old Glory Bank to receive Disbursements with no Disbursement Fee. However, please note that any accrued but unpaid Card Convenience Fee (i.e., from Donations) will still be deducted from the Campaign Account in connection with such Disbursement.

How often can I withdraw from my campaign?

As often as the Campaign Sponsor requests.

How will Old Glory Bank know where to deposit funds?

Sponsors will be asked to provide details of disbursement beneficiary along with beneficiary receipt details (depending on disbursement method selected).

How long will it take to receive my campaign deposit(s)?

Funds are disbursed within 2-3 business days.

Old Glory Bank strives to process Disbursements promptly but our ability to do so is dependent upon the Sponsor providing the correct information and upon technical systems operating as intended.  Old Glory Bank will undertake commercially reasonable efforts to provide an indicative timescale for Disbursement of donations where an immediate Disbursement is not possible.  However, Old Glory Bank does not guarantee that Disbursements will always be available within any specific time but shall use commercially reasonable efforts to provide Disbursements as soon as reasonably possible.  Except as restricted by applicable law, Old Glory Bank expressly disclaims any and all responsibility for any delay in Disbursements or your inability to access and use Disbursements at any specified time, and any consequences arising from such delay or inability.

Can I change the beneficiary disbursement account information once the campaign has launched?

Yes.  However, the campaign will need to be reviewed again by our internal teams.  Sponsor requests will be verbally verified by an Alliance team member once the request is made.

Requests can be made to:  alliance@oldglorybank.com

What if my campaign does not reach the fundraising goal? Can I still ask for funds to be disbursed to my account?

As an Old Glory Account holder, you may cash out in full or partially at any time during your campaign event.  See “How do I withdraw funds from my campaign?”

Can I change the campaign owner once the campaign has launched?

No, if you wish to change a campaign owner, you must close the current campaign and begin a new campaign.

What happens if the campaign owner passes away?

If the campaign sponsor passes away, we can transfer the funds to another party or end the campaign.

To make changes to a campaign of a deceased sponsor, the executor of the estate will need to provide:

  • A valid Government-issued photo ID
  • A copy of the Death Certificate
  • A copy of the deceased sponsor’s Last Will and Testament or other legal documents.

If the executor chooses to have the fundraiser transferred to them, the executor can manage the fundraiser and can decide to continue or end the campaign.

Contributing to a Campaign:

I was invited to donate to a campaign at Old Glory Alliance. How do I know I can trust the campaign’s organizer to be legitimate?

Alternatively, you can create an Old Glory Alliance username and password to access your personal dashboard where you can view and track all your contributions, add a payment method for quick checkout, and even start your own campaign in the future.

Not at this time.

  Maximum donation is $1,000,000.00 USD

Can I request a refund of my donation?

What do I need to know about taxes? Is my donation tax free?

Old Glory Alliance does not withhold funds for tax purposes or otherwise. Beneficiaries (including sponsors) who benefit from donations will be solely responsible for taxes based on applicable law.

Because no campaign account will incur interest, Old Glory Bank will not send a 1099-INT to a campaign sponsor.  Because no campaign may be used for the sale of goods or services, Old Glory Bank will not prepare or file a form 1099-K in connection with such a campaign.
